Gold winning Paralympian Andy Lewis

This is the first time Para-Triathlon has be featured at any Paralympic Games with Andy Lewis taking the first para-tri Gold in style.

Andy, who has been training out of Sands Beach Resort (Lanzarote) during the course of the last two years, has already the won the World and European Champs and now the Paralympic Games champion can now take a well deserved rest.. He's quoted

“I can’t believe that has happened. I’m just in shock, I’m Paralympic, world and European champion and perhaps I’ll have my first beer in two years now!"  Andy Lewis

Andy won the event in 1:11:49, almost a minute quicker than second placed Michele Ferrarin.

Over the past two years I've had the pleasure of some up close personal photographic content with the whole British Para-Triathlon team as they have prepared for Rio here on Lanzarote, namely training out of the sports/active resort of Sands Beach in the costal town of Costa Teguise.

Here's a few images from Andy's training here on the island. Congratulations Andy... A well earned and deserved Gold medal.
